Ingredients

  • ½ lb salmon belly, skin-on, cleaned and patted dry
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • ½ tsp sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Pat the salmon belly dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture for extra crispiness.
  • Heat a non-stick or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat and add the oil.
  • Once the oil is hot, place the salmon belly skin-side down in the pan and press lightly with a spatula.
  • Cook for 3-4 minutes without moving until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
  • Flip the salmon and cook for another 2 minutes on the other side.
  • Remove from heat and let rest for 1 minute.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot!
