  • Author: Chef Ella
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 2 crabbies (6 servings of 2 crabbies each) 1x

Description

This crabbies recipe is a cheesy, crispy, and delicious seafood appetizer that’s perfect for parties, holiday gatherings, or a quick snack. Made with lump crab meat, sharp cheddar, and flavorful seasonings, these broiled crab meltaways are irresistibly golden and delicious!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 English muffins, split in half
  • 1 cup lump crab meat (fresh or canned, drained)
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning (or paprika)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to broil (high setting). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, mix softened butter, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and Old Bay seasoning.
  • Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until well combined.
  • Gently fold in the lump crab meat, being careful not to break it apart too much.
  • Spread the crab mixture evenly over the English muffin halves, covering them completely.
  • Place the muffins on the prepared baking sheet and broil for 3-5 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately!

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, lightly toast the English muffins before adding the crab mixture.
  • Add diced jalapeños for a spicy twist or mix in a little cream cheese for extra creaminess.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat under the broiler for 2-3 minutes to restore crispiness.
